About Us

Who We Are

Hosts of Angels is a volunteer-driven global nonprofit dedicated to empowering underprivileged communities across Egypt, Namibia, wider Africa, and the San Francisco Bay Area. We are united by a shared mission to provide practical support with unwavering dignity and compassion.
We serve widows and orphans, prisoners seeking a second chance, seniors and people with disabilities, and families in crisis. Our mission is simple and deeply human: meet basic needs so dignity can flourish, with food on the table, a seat in the classroom, and access to medical care when it matters most.
Our volunteers are rooted in the communities we serve. We listen and walk alongside, covering school fees and supplies, arranging transportation, paying for medications and surgeries, and delivering meals and relief with gentleness and respect. This is love in action: small, faithful steps that draw a smile on the face of those we serve and sometimes change a life.
Join us. Share your time and your generosity. Together, we can make sure every person we meet is reminded that they are seen, valued, and never forgotten.

-
We serve support 6,000 children with special needs in Egypt, ensuring they receive specialized resources and opportunities that the community does not provide.
-
Helping low-income patients in critical need by donating hospital bills for life-saving surgeries at 57357 Children’s Cancer Hospital, Dr. Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, and numerous others, giving families relief and patients a second chance at life.

It’s important to note that Hosts of Angels is entirely run by volunteers—we have no employees. This means that every dollar donated goes directly toward helping families in need, ensuring that your contributions make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Our History
Hosts of Angels, originally founded as Taghamat Malaika by Fr. Bishoy Halim in Egypt
in 2009, began with a mission to uplift children and youth in rural and
disadvantaged communities. Through engaging educational and recreational
programs, we aimed to nurture their social and emotional well-being and give
them joy.

Over the years, our efforts have grown, and our volunteer network has
flourished. Today, more than 300 dedicated individuals serve families in need,
people with disabilities, hospital patients, prisoners, orphaned children, widows,
seniors, and individuals experiencing homelessness.

In 2022, Hosts of Angels became a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit in the
USA, allowing us to expand our mission and better support communities across
Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa. During this period, Egypt faced significant
economic challenges, with inflation surging due to the sharp depreciation of the
Egyptian pound against the US dollar (falling from under 20 EGP per USD in 2022
to over 50 EGP today). This currency devaluation has driven the cost of living
to unprecedented levels, with prices for essential household goods, food and
transportation more than tripling in recent years. As families struggle with
rising expenses, our work has become even more vital in providing relief and
support.
